The Girls Basketball team welcomes back many of its players from last year. This year’s team is made up of seniors Jocelyn Hale, Alice Read, Diana Mercado, Nikki Stortroen, Maricruz Rodriguez, and Arithzi Rivera along with juniors Marcy Flores, Deanna Torres, Alilla Dollar, and Jordan Mackey. Coach Jamie Hale is back along with Misael Olivera and, when asked about the team, stated, “This year, the team is more of a family. I know the girls have talent; it’s just a matter of getting it out of then. I expect we will be very competitive in league.”

The team participated in the Alumni Game on November 26th. Although they lost their match by 10 points, the girls played relentlessly and at one point in the game were tied with the alumni girls.

The team also played Rio Lindo Academy on December 1. Although they met defeat, the girls played hard and worked together.

The team has been practicing rigorously since their first practice began on November l0th. Arithzi Rivera told the Broncho Express that the most detested exercise were  the “Liners”.
