Equality for All

Why do people discriminate against other people because of the color of their skin? If you discriminate against someone the law punishes you. All children should go to the same school. Nonviolent protests are the better way to solve problems. Every human being has certain basic rights and taking them away or discriminating against them because they are different is wrong, illegal, and immoral. As early as 1864, the United States government voiced their disapproval of discrimination by passing the Civil Rights Act. If you discriminate against others you are punished by the law. There are many forms of discrimination and all are illegal. When people are discriminated against by the color of their skin it is wrong. |

Educational discrimination is illegal. A child’s skin color should not affect the kind of school he/she is allowed to attend. All children should go to the same school and have the same textbooks. No Child Left Behind Act states that all children have the right to a good education. Brown versus board of education in 1954 said that black and white children could attend the same school. |

A famous person who fought for people’s rights was Martin Luther King Jr. He wanted to have nonviolent protests. Some people forget what they’re trying to do when they have a protest and get out of control. Nonviolent protests were so people didn’t fight or get hurt and lose focus of their goals. Martin Luther King Jr. wanted to keep the peace and have only nonviolent protests. Violent protests don’t work, because people fight. It would be better to discuss problems without using violence. He also talked about in his I have a dream speech how everyone is created equal. He wanted the nation to rise up and live out the constitution. The constitution says every person is created equal. All people are the same except for the color of their skin. We’re all the same inside; we just look different on the outside. All human beings need basic rights no matter what ethnicity you are and taking them away is discrimination. Discrimination is wrong, illegal, and immoral. Discrimination is wrong and will get you punished by the law. All kids should get the same education no matter what ethnicity you are. Martin Luther King Jr. had nonviolent protests. People should live their life no matter what their skin color or race, and live in peace like everybody else. |
