The middle School girls have just started Volleyball!!!! They are very excited to begin the year. They started off their season with a victory. They played very hard! They served they ball with the intention of winning. They knew that this was there first game and that they should have a victory to start the year off good. All of their hard work ended up paying off. The Middle School Volleyballs next game they played hard but they lost. They’ll do better next time and bring home another victory. December 10 the girls played against the RVC and they tried very hard and they …. WON!!!! The junior varsity played very well and they pulled off a victory. The varsity team won as well but they seemed like they already knew that they were going to be winning, confidence is everything. Everybody at the school is proud of these girls for doing so well and representing our wonderful school so well. The middle school boy’s basketball doesn’t start until January. But they are all looking forward to playing. The boys seem eager to get back to playing basketball, but perhaps they are looking forward to getting out of class early and enjoying the car rides together. But maybe just maybe they are looking forward to winning every game and eventually playing in the NBA. Perhaps that but who knows maybe it’s somewhere in between the NBA and the car rides. But even if it’s one of those or something completely different like they want to play so they can change the light bulbs in the gym so be it, we are just happy the economy hasn’t canceled our sports program yet!! |

This basketball season is off to a great start for both the girls and boys teams. This year the girls have a varsity and a junior varsity team. The varsity team players are currently; Marcy Flores, Macy McClung, Sina Kilian, Alilla Dollar, Linda Mercado, Charlotte Kreklau, Zoë Ottoboni, Lindsay Harjak and Karen Mercado. The junior varsity players are; Nataly Duran, Zuleima Hernandez, Elizabeth Silva, Sandra Hernandez, Veronica Hernandez, Laura Justo, and Jennifer Reyes. The girl varsity had a game on the first of December against Rio Lindo, but lost. The girls played a great game and put in a lot of effort. This year the guys team consist of: Jesus Zendejas, Petie Bensin, David Hadley, Juan Mendoza, Juan Hernandez Salvador Silva, Orlando Castro Perez, Lupe Gonzalez, and Lupe Silva They also played against Rio Lindo and lost as well. But they didn’t lose by much and did a great job. The varsity boys and girls went to Pescadero for a tournament on the third of December and came back on the fifth of December. The girl’s varsity team came in third place. They won their first game, lost their second game and won their third game. The guy’s team lost their first game won their second game and lost their third game. But the boys played well and had fun doing it. On the 10th, 11th, and 12th of December the boys and girls varsity teams will be playing in the Jean Duffy Calistoga Tournament. Then on the 17th, 18th, and 19th of December the varsity boys and girls will be playing in the SSC (Small School Classics). The games will begin after one o’clock due to finals. Both teams had a good start this basketball season. They have won some and lost some, but have given it their all! |
