I began chapter three with the idea of adding a plot element for future expansion and including characters that I express rather shallowly but will also be expanded in later chapters. Most of this centered around the Drakox, my idea of a dragon-human hybrid throw and kept into the tribal stages of sapient development by the human’s of Katan. I was inspired by many stories of cultures that coexist with nature, such as the Native Americans and the African Zulu tribes, so I tried to have them act differently to other characters of my book, void of the greed and sin that humans take a part in. Though the Drakox are in fact peaceful, many of them hold a grudge against humans for keeping them suppressed within the Katan forest that borders on racism. Once again, I plan on expanding there plight in later chapters or even books if there will be. They contain secrets that can be exploited in my writing. |
