The basketball girls and boys team played in the SSC on the 17, 18, and 19 of December. The girl’s varsity team played at 1:00PM on the 17 against Cloverdale because Summerfield Wardlorf could not make the tournament. The girls lost against Cloverdale but still made it to the winner’s bracket.  The next game the girl’s varsity team played was on Friday the 18 at 1:00PM against Providence but lost. And finally on Saturday they played they’re last game against Pescadero at 10AM. They ended up with a win but the game was close. The girls had great tournament and had fun playing!

On the other hand the boys played at 8:30 on Thursday against Pescadero. The boys won. Then on Friday the guys played at 8PM against Potter Valley and won. Finally on Saturday they played against Point Arena at 5PM and forfeit the game. Both teams had a great SSC tournament, played hard, and had fun.

All three teams, junior varsity, varsity girls and boys, played against Point Arena on Wednesday the 6 of January. The junior varsity team played at 4:00PM. The girls JV team lost but put in a lot of effort. The girl’s varsity played at 5:30PM. The girl’s varsity lost but played a great game! The guy’s team played 7:00PM.  And the boys lost as well and also played a great game.          

The teams had a game on Friday the 8^th of January against Potter Valley at home. The girl’s junior varsity played at 4:00PM, the varsity girls played at 5:30PM, and the guy’s varsity played at 7:00PM.  The varsity girl’s team lost by 30 points but tried their best.  The boy’s varsity lost as well, but gave it al they had. 

The teams had another game in Anderson Valley on Tuesday January 12, 2010. The girl’s varsity played at 5:30PM and the boys played at 7:00PM. The girls won there first game of the season. And the guys lost but fought until the end of the game.

On Friday January 15, 2010 the basketball teams played against Mendocino. The girls played at 5:30 and the boys played at 7:00. The ladies lost but it was a very close game and the guys lost as well. The players also were supposed to have a game on 19 of January but it was cancelled due to whether and will be rescheduled shortly.

Oh boy, it’s everyone’s favorite article that’s definitely not a waste of my time: Middle School Sports!! This month there has been some new developments in the middle school sports team. With the volleyball finally done with their season it seems that the players would want to play more. When asked one of the players said “I’m just waiting so I can play in High School and join the ranks of the best players”, it just goes to show that even the middle school kids have dreams and imaginations. Their volleyball team had a good run in their pursuit of winning and playing as a team.

Middle school basketball has been having a decent year pulling off some quick moves against other players and stealing the very bright spotlight. When the team plays they usually play as a unit, but the other day they did not play as a unit, they in fact played as a team. They tried very hard and gave a lot of heart & pride. This is what the sports about, giving it your best and still having a good time.  Even when the game was over the players were still craving more, it seemed as if all the kids had a lot of caffeine before the game or they were just ready to play.
