As many people are aware there has recently been a swine flu epidemic in our country, though the amount of people ill with this disease seems to be low. The number of people ill has increased since the news announcement of two persons ill from this disease in New York on April 30th. The CDC has been keeping a close eye on the number of cases in the United States. In the beginning of this news report many scientist believed that the cases would increase exponentially. However the number of swine flu (H1N1) has remained relatively low with only 1 fatality in 403 cases nationally as of May 14, 2009. Why is Swine Flu a big deal? When many people hear the word flu they believe someone will be miserable for a day or 2 and recover. However people only recover from flu’s if they have antibodies for that particular strain of a virus. The problem with swine flu is that a vaccine for humans has not yet been developed, thus the flu is highly contagious. Another reason for this mass hysteria is that swine flu is not easily detected. How can you lower your risks of catching Swine Flu? The CDC recommends avoiding all future travel plans to Mexico until at least July. The only reason people are being told to terminate travel plans is due to the fact that the virus originated in Mexico and the CDC fears the virus may have mutations. An emotional or other connection between people One of the most difficult aspects of high school”1 High school is tough. Relationships can be harder. Having a relationship while in high school may seem like the most stressful thing anyone can go through. Balancing homework, sports, and a boyfriend/girlfriend is so hard sometimes; guys and girls need someone to talk to, whether he or she needs advice or just a shoulder to cry on. This is where I come into the picture. Some call me a savior; others call me a guardian angel. I’m here to help those in relationships that need my assistance. Here are a few problems many relationships have and how to correct the problems described. Communication Communication is a major part in making any relationship work. Without it, no properly functioning relationship would exist. Many guys ask this question; “My girlfriend will get mad at me and I don’t know what I’ve done. What can I do to make her happy with me again?” Now ladies, as much as we would like to believe it, guys can’t read our minds. When he makes you mad, you need to tell him; That you’re mad. What he did to make you mad. Let him know if there’s anything he can do to make you less mad. Once you do that, girls, nothing but smooth sailing will be in your future. 1 www.dictionary.com |
