Text Box: The Geyserville Unified School District consists of two school sites. The elementary serves children K-5 and was built over 50 years ago. The Educational Park serves grades 6-12 and is over 35 years old. Both facilities were in need of modernization. The electrical systems were not designed for today’s technology, plumbing fixtures have aged, some dry rot had appeared, and wall and floor surfaces were in need of repair.
The bond issue last February for 3.5 million dollars was approved by Text Box: the community and along with a matching federal grant provided the funds for the two-year modernization beginning June 2008.
During the summer, construction crews spent many hours at both sites tinkering away at the repairs and completing phase one (2008) in late August. In fact, we were supposed to start school around August 13th but because of various delays, school actually started after Labor Day. Of course we had a longer summer, but the downside is that next summer will be shorter.

The elementary classrooms received new paint, countertops, and fancy trim work. Both schools also received all new cable wiring for the phone and alarm systems and fiber optic cabling for data.
The high school had new wall coverings installed, new bells, new carpets, Text Box: District Remodel
