House Competition

What can I say? The house volleyball competition on Tuesday December 1 was spectacular!

In the first round, Pena and Bosworth proved worthy of their mascot each winning a berth in the finals. Mihi and Seghesio played a runner-up round that ended in “sudden death” overtime. Mihi took the point and third place to boot. There were great plays by both middle school and high school teams.

In the final round, Pena and Bosworth battled evenly with excellent serves by Bosworth senior Alilla Dollar, Sophomore Zoe Ottoboni and spike master David Hadley heating up the game. Pena’s Kelsie Jones and Orlando Perez demonstrated powerful moves backed by “Spike Cruncher” Jesus Zendejas.

In the final 10 seconds, the teams were tied 16-16. Pena served and they lost the point just as the buzzer was finishing. Bosworth proved worthy with their 17-16 win over Pena.
